This is such a strange feeling. For the first time in I don't know how many months (or can I count years now?) I really don't know what I'm going to do on a Friday night.

I don't count high school or the time before that. I just don't.

After high school initially I had SCA events and enjoyed quiet nights at home when those events weren't happening.

After that, Vampire came along and my Fridays belonged to Stockton by Night.

Over time I transitioned from Vampire to a Marvel game, until that Marvel game eventually took over.

This is an off week. The people I would normally hang out with have other plans.

I feel a little lost. I really don't know what to do with myself. Do I hang out with Friends? Revisit one of the other Vampire games? Do an extra set of dance drills? What?

...

In a way, it's kind of nice not knowing what's going to happen this weekend. It helps break up the monotony that I sometimes feel my life suffers from.

A customer asked today, early on in the call, if he was talking to a live person. My response?

"Wait, let me check... (short pause) Yep! Pulse and respiration. You are speaking with a live person!"

I don't think I've heard a customer laugh so hard before.

The version I took back in Summer of 2005 placed me as ENTJ, but the T/F was a close race.

So, this morning I leave for work, only to realize that my front two tires were slashed. Needless to say, that's not the way I wanted the day to start.

Two hours and over $200 later, I finally get to work. I spend most of the day trying to keep myself composed on the phone, which was far from easy.

Finally, at the end of the day, I have a wonderful dinner with Autumn and Mat. Nice wrap-up for the day.

It was the year of the Fire Tiger. I'd say there are aspects of it that ring true, but as a whole I would have to think on it.

The year at last draws to a close, and my what a year it has been. It's been an insane roller coaster filled with twists and turns I never would have seen coming, all the while moving at a breakneck speed that was at once exciting and terrifying...

And I am sure that this is only the beginning.

Remember that apartment I was moving in to? Well, I've been in it over a month now. It took over a week to get electricity, almost a month to get gas, after that the fridge broke down and all of my perishables spoiled... Now it's finally starting to feel comfortable. I'll be happy when my lease is finally up so I can get out of here, but for now it's not a terrible little place.

... I still haven't cleaned up and put everything away. I promised myself I would do that tonight. So I came home, ate dinner, watched a movie, then got started. Now I'm taking a break to check things on the computer.

I should do a real update at some point. There's been a lot going on in this past month.

I was a bit more surprised by the runners up: My full results.

The good news is I got the job.  Out of the three guys that were picked before me, only one of them actually got hired.  I got was essentially number four on the list, so I got picked up next.  I get a small pay bump as well as a bigger desk to match my new responsibilities.

The bad news is that about half of the team thinks I only got the job because my dad works for Apple.  Clearly he must have pulled strings, right?  And I've been told that out of the ten agents I am in charge of, seven of them feel that way.  They don't respect me and don't think I'm qualified to do the job I was hired for.  No, my father did not pull any strings for me.  I'm a lead because Dan and Constance agreed that I could do it.

Last off, at some point today somebody stole the splitter I use to do in-cube coaching.  It was at my desk, my headset plugged into it, with my notebook, pen, and ACES forms when we went to the team meeting.  When I was getting ready to sit in with one of my agents about two hours later, it and it alone was gone.  It was nowhere on the floor, it was not at the desk of the last person I ACEd... nowhere.  And those things don't just fall off.

I wanted this job so badly, and I'm happy to have it, but my teammates have given me almost nothing but hell since I got it.

I don't know why, but apparently my mother still likes chatting with one of my ex-boyfriends.  It's really starting to get annoying.  Back when I chose to end the relationship, she tried to get me to get back together with him, going on about how he was head-over-heels for me and how great he was.  Every once in a while she brings him up out of the blue again, most recently mentioning how he would soon be moving to LA.  I made some passing comment at the time about wondering whether or not he had made it into one of the schools down there.

Just now - and keep in mind that I have already said good night for the evening - she came into my room and suggested writing to him to find out if he had made it into a school.  When I expressed disinterest in doing so, she said to me, "I guess you don't feel bad about the break-up after all."

I ignored her until she left the room.

Stop laughing this instant!  I mean it!

Before all you Mac-haters start gloating, you aught to know one thing: I'm running XP on my MacBook with the help of BootCamp, which comes as part of MacOS X Leopard (aka 10.5).

To all of my fellow Apple fanatics out there, fear not!  I'm still spending pretty much all of my time on the Mac side of my computer anyway.  All I'm doing on the Windows side is game-related stuff like Grapevine.
